Can I Make A Soul Connection With On-Line Dating?

Our psychic and astrologer Helen explores the potential of internet dating.

With more and more of us leading busy lives, meeting that special someone just seems harder for most people. Where and how to schedule in activities that may connect you with a like-minded soul can be daunting, so its little wonder that more and more people are turning to the internet to try to make that soul connection. But can it really lead us to that and if that’s what we are seeking, how can we maximise our chances at finding it?

Firstly, take a tip from Michele Knight and see all areas of your life as the potential to create magic! When you fill out your internet dating profile imagine yourself as a beacon of love signalling to draw in the right energy for you. Caste out your desires as you type trusting in your own lovability. Know that it is possible to find someone perfect for you as what we believe we create.

Secondly, here’s a tip from a professional life coach who specialises in helping people get back into the dating game. Internet dating will either work for you really fast or it won’t work at all. The other thing you need to be aware of is that people using the free dating sites are less likely to be committed and serious about their search than those on paid ones. As you won’t need to spend a lot of time to see if it’s going to work for you or not, a three month membership to one of the paid sites is all you’re going to need so consider this a good investment.

While women place as much emphasis on what someone has to say in their profile as their photo, men place far more emphasis on looks. So, it’s a good idea to make sure your photo does you justice if you’re a woman or gay/bi/tri man! Get a friend to take some nice shots of you and experiment with a few different looks. They don’t have to be glamour shots – just you looking and feeling your best. It’s also a good idea to ask friends which shots they like as you can get valuable feedback. They may appreciate something you’ve missed. When it comes to hobbies and interests, a lot of people search by topic so include not just things you enjoy doing now but also activities you’d be interested in trying with a partner.

While it’s great to get responses you have to remember that the object of on-line dating is to get you a date – not to engage in long email correspondence, texting or messaging. Of course you need to exchange information about each other and find out if you want to take it further, but be cautious if the other party isn’t moving towards a meeting within a couple of weeks. Also, if you are meeting up with someone for the first time then ensure it is in a public place and take your time getting to know the ‘real’ person – not the on-line presence! You need to ensure your new connection is everything they are saying they are. Don’t be afraid of asking questions – about where they work, their relationship status (you need to ensure they really are free to enter into a relationship with you!), their family, friends, children if any etc as well as the things you have in common. After all, this is all part of getting to know someone.

The fact is, if it is the right time in your soul journey to experience being in a relationship then that relationship will happen for you. The internet just gives us one more way to invite in the synchronicity and magic to find that special someone. However, what works for one person may not work for another which is why if after three months, you are not in the process of forging a connection you feel may have a future, you may come to the realisation that your next major relationship may manifest via another channel.

Enjoy internet dating as an experience that allows you to discover more about yourself and other people. And do so in the knowledge that if you don’t meet a soul partner this way, you will connect eventually. After all, the soul contracts we make are going to be fulfilled – whether we make them on-line or face-to-face!
